We will study a series of eight sequential qigong movements that have been around for roughly 1500 years. This is a method of self-healing, known as Ba Duan Jin. The movements, coupled with intentional thoughts and breathing, are designed to remove stagnant or negative energy and gather positive healing energy (qi). As the body softens, and negative emotions are released, you will experience a feeling of inner peace. Qigong has three functions. It strengthens the body, calms the mind, and opens the heart. With regular practice, you will experience a renewed sense of joy and purpose, a deeper understanding of life, and more compassion for yourself and others. Accommodations for movements can be suggested for less mobile practitioners.
